You do know there are NOTABLE DECOUPEURS? Course you did.
Decoupage was all the rage during the reign of George III & Queen Charlotte of England, 18th Century….who knew?… 71 year old MARY DELANY was a rock star! Decoupaged for the Queen…guess she was head decoupeur! Ms. DELANY created over 1700 pieces most are in the Enlightenment Gallery at the British Museum of Art.
“Enlighten us, she does”…thank you YODA.
The Pix below are MS. DELANY’S work, all paper collaged decoupage…Intricate & stunning right?
New York art collector & decoupeur RICHARD BASILE, worked over a decade in his parents' New England basement study. His intricate floral decorative work went on display at the Foire internationale d'art contemporain festival in Paris in 2014. “MAAAAHM!……I said knock!”
JAY JONES is another decoupeur of major status…the Keystone Stater is holder of multiple Guinness World records. yep….we do not make this up.
Check out the DAW…Decoupage Artists Worldwide….yes its a thing.
End of today’s decoupageiry……hope we all learned something… Ma E. would be proud…just gotta get the modpodge off our fingers…
Thanks for listening, until tomorrow.
