Ah…BECKY LYNN BLANCA….brash, funny, tells it like it is, no fuss, no muss….super talented…amazing writer….two bands (one won’t do)… first THE PENNY MATCHES, ‘30s Jazz…We recorded this album in San Fernando, Cali…with the CALIFORNIA FEETWARMERS as the backing band….super fun sessions….daily cornbread pancakes… engineer BRIAN ASCENZO at the late ASPEN PITTMAN Studio…such great mems….but a better album…vinyl & all… Here’s “Millionaire” & “4AM”.
PETUNIA is an enigma….racontuer, mysterious, funny as heck, yodeler, & fantastic singer….This reporter found a CD of PETUNIA from 2006 (Petunia & The Loons) …we were so enthralled by his voice & music…we took it upon ourselves to write him…we needed to find out more about this riddle of an artist with a name like PETUNIA. Long story…we won’t bore…2009, we’re in the famous SOUND FACTORY Recording Studio in Hollywood….CREEDENCE, RONSTADT, BROWN(JACKSON NOT BOBBY), CHILI PEPPERS, GAYE, it goes on…we record for 4 days in December 2009…..hard to put to words how much fun this was….The Record = PETUNIA & THE VIPERS…. a swell friend did the cowboy cover, other folks aided this bewildered “producer?”with photos & layouts…off we went into record producing.

Had the extraordinary chance to work with these Pros on a little show called SUPERNATURAL some years back…”Time After Time” was the Ep, Season 7 if one is looking, (& you should)….one can guess time travel involvement to let’s say 1940’s Nessland, Eliot anyone? A-1 Composers JAY GRUSKA & CHRIS LENNERTZ composed their magic, THE FEETWARMERS played magically, FUN was had…

GOD is in the house….well…he plays the almighty on a TV show….ROB BENEDICT…is in a band…LOUDEN SWAIN….they are fun…a lot of fun…BILLY MORAN, MICHAEL BORJA, STEPHEN NORTON round out this highly talented group.
Band’s name is from the main character in the flick VisionQuest…these Kats have been on their own VisionQuest since ‘97….9 LPs….rabid fans…we know we’ve been…off the Sky Alive LP….here’s “Trigger Finger”….
What can be said of this next outfit….LOUD, yes…..MOSHPIT, yes…..HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS, YES! FLOGGING MOLLY is all that & more….started as the house band for Imbibing Establishment MOLLY MALONE’s in LALA…late ‘90s….in fact most Monday evenings this Reporter with Chums & Pints witnessed a PHEMON in development. Tunes like “Selfish Man”, “Black Friday Rule” were born here…jump to 1999, TV Pilot TURKS, this reporter is cutting…”we need a song for a cop bar, Irish”…what about FM? They have nothing recorded at this time…Producing Chum CL says “let’s see if they’d be interested in recording”, they are, we record with mix man DH…this reporter’s duties?…in charge of meat & beer…
Here’s the first version of “These Exiled Years” with the original band & GARY SCHWINDT on trumpet….it’s the first thing to touch one’s ears on the Pilot of TURKS, over black…and….. fade in………good times.
We’re back where we started with the remarkable BECKY LYNN BLANCA & her “other” band….‘60s Garage meisters….LOS BLANCOS…. Serious Business is the album. But we had non serious fun making this record…
We have a couple, first “Bikini Girls with Machine Guns”… a CRAMPS tune…. The second is “Stir It With Your Finger”….this was such a fun session….hope it’s fun for you too…
We hope the ride wasn’t to tedious….just something we had to get out we guess…
