Brazillian percussion whiz AIRTO with his honey FLORA PURIM…ah what nice sounds….from his 1989 album Samba De Flora….the ultra quiet,”Mulambo”. This Kat plays anything that needs smackin’, hitting’, banging’…World’s best percussionist from ‘72-’85…that’s a lot of thumpin’!
Astonishing! LOST then FOUND! Recorded 50 years ago….IndiaNoPlace’s 5-man rock band ICE….recorded an album in ChiTown, then broke up, two singles got released, then poof!….closet time……until the folks at RIDING EASY RECORDS dusted off the 2” Master tapes, cleaned up the tracks, remixed…Boom! Album is made…A pretty good one too.

American Woman is the album….Winnipegian’s THE GUESS WHO with “No Time”. This tune originally on the Sept.’69, Canned Wheat LP, then revised & released on 1970’s American Woman, mostly tempo change with lyrics transposed…by the by these kats released two full albums in 1969.
EL-HARU KUROI hail from East LALA….this trio is powerful… a few albums out, they are making some ripples in Angel City… EDDIKA EDULÉ ORGANISTA, Vocals/Guitar MICHAEL ANTHONY IBARRA, Elect. Bass + Standing Bass DOMINIQUE "CHIEF" RODRIGUEZ, Percussion, Drums….we know CHIEF as a member of the CALIFORNIA FEETWARMERS…does spectacular work here with this grouping. Heart & Soul…who needs more.
We have a couple from the album Sabung….“Jaqui” then “Aprovetir”.
Philly close native KURT VILE is here with something to say…interesting Kat, got a banjo (hated it) from Pa @ 14, learned, then wrote tunes on it…. started LO-FI recordings, liked it, kept going with it, still does…. produces for others too.

Maybe, more early BLACK SABBATH….with crueller imagery…We keep seeing 666….

QUENTIN TARANTINO ruined this song didn’t he? Or did he? STEALERS WHEEL might not think so…OGs JOE EGAN & GERRY RAFFERTY wrote “Stuck In The Middle With You” & are still getting “mailbox candy” (royalties for that one tune…in that one movie). Mr. RAFFERTY hung with the band for its first couple albums, splitsville to sololand…hits with “Baker’s Street”, “Right Down the Line”.
